Add a bottle of styptic powder to make it canine friendly
Personally, I don't think this is canine friendly because it only has the basics and really should include styptic powder (the items it comes with can be used on people as well). I purchased this little bottle Miracle Care Kwik Stop Styptic Powder, 0.5 Oz which fits into a full brand new first aid kit. You don't really need much else. It has come in handy at the dog park for a bite and torn nail (both on other dogs).I purchased this because I like the small size of the kit...I took a picture along with a credit card for comparison. There is a plastic bag inside the kit that holds all the items together. That seemed redundant so to save space I removed that bag and just placed everything back into the orange kit. On the back there is a little opening if you want to use it for doggie bags.

We bought this for a trip where our dog would be out in the woods with us. Wanted something that had the basics, and was small and easy to cary on a hike. We bought some Wood Seal to throw in/double up on (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015RY2EDE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). A cut paw was our most likely scenario, so we wanted to have extra. Also, our friends were with us with their dogs too.

Luckily we have not had to use it for our dogs, but my wife did use something for a neighbor dog.

If you are looking for a full kit for the house or to leave in the car, there might be some better choices. However, for walking about, this has you covered for most common situations.

This thing is amazing. My sweet pup and I go hiking all the time and this is perfect because it fits on her harness, not too heavy. It has all the basic things you need in a tiny little compact bag. Worth your money!

Update: I still love it, but the zipper comes undone a lot! I’ve had to figure out a way that it would be easy to open when needed, but won’t open while the puppy is playing and running in the woods on our hike. Still love it though! Just make sure u have it so the zipper won’t come undone on a hike!

I normally keep this in my hiking backpack in case anything ever happens to the dogs. Whilst at home my dog cut her paw and I grabbed this first aid kit. It was a minor cut, and the first aid kit really came in handy. I wrapped up her paw to temporarily keep it covered. It is very minimal, I would say its good for having around the house in case of minor cuts, or on light hikes. I also added to mine the powder that stops the bleeding, per another posters recommendation.

I should have read the reviews before purchasing this. It's an okay first aid kit for basically not just for canines, but felines too (I have a few friends who actually walk their cats, literally). So, this is great when you're on a walk, on a hike, or don't feel like you need to bring a huge load of your pet first aid kit with you when traveling. Someone did mention about putting styptic powder in here, which is actually a good idea when your furry friend needs something quickly stop the bleeding. I would also want to include a mini flashlight, just in case you're walking at night.

It is indeed, compact, and pricey. I had a hard time taking the contents out at first, because they're all in a plastic bag, but it is neatly packaged. I do like that it is made with a nice material that can handle some rain droplets. It also includes a pamphlet where you can write like your vet info, animal poison control, and emergency hospital # ... just in case, you happen to hire a dog walker. So, it is a very simple first aid kit for cats and dogs.

This is great, it fits right in my "Adventure Bag" I use when going on hikes with my fosters. Its not a huge first aid kit but has enough that if something happened to manage the situation and get to an emergency vet. I was really happy with it!

Got this as a gift for my sister, since her dogs try their absolute best to always befriend cacti or sniff out sticker burs. It is a decent little bag to clip to your leash for walks. Read the item list to see if it sounds suitable for your needs and that way you know what is in your bag before you ever need to use it! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Not amazing, but as advertised.
Reviewed in Canada on April 22, 2021
Pretty small, probably the size of your hand but that’s the point I think? Everything in this kit is the same as a humans first aid kit so I kinda wish I hadn’t gotten it. The bag has a little opening for pulling poop bags through, but it’s so small there isn’t enough room to add poop bags. The first aid instructions are also very basic, nearly the same as human instructions (if there’s an object imbedded stabilize it then transport to hospital). I’d almost recommend investing in a human first aid kit and adding some quick stop powder in.

That being said it’s exactly as advertised, a minimal, compact, doggy first aid kit. I have it clipped onto her backpack.
